clean and unclean

I was pondering the verses today in Matt. 15 where Jesus is talking to the pharisees and they asked him why his disciples dont wash their hands before they eat. Jesus proceeds to give them a swift kick in the toga and reminds them that its not what goes into the mouth that makes someone unclean but what comes out of the heart. He was making the point that spiritually you
are not condemned simply because you are physically unclean. John the Baptist was unkempt but was an incredible prophet for God. However, i realized something. We don't take that verse and say "well Jesus said we don't have to wash our hands anymore." You don't see people preaching sermons about not washing your hands and bathing in germs. Why? Because we REALIZE that Jesus was not negating the fact that early in the history of the world His Father told the Israelites to wash their hands because of cleanliness. He was simply saying the pharisees should not make a physical fact a spiritual matter. In the same way I've heard people ask me about verses such as "Its not what goes into a man that make him unclean." Or "Eat whatever is given you" (from Luke talking about sacrificed meat) and say apparently God doesn't care what you eat. WRONG!!! While spiritually you will not be harmed if you eat nothing but cake and cookies your whole life (although it will affect your emotions and temperament) you will not be taking care of your temple. As it says in 1 Cor. 10:23, "everything is permissible but not everything is helpful". So when you read a verse that seems to sound as if God doesn't care what you eat and you are tempted to throw out the Old Testament Kosher laws as junk, don't do it. Consider why God gave us the health laws in the first place and consider the context of the verse you are reading. It amazes me how many Christians use the verse where God told Peter to kill and eat as reason to eat pig flesh when he was CLEARLY (the Bible even states this) talking about the Jews and the gentiles, NOT about literal food. So, just because Jesus said washing your hands or NOT does not make you unclean spiritually, also eating healthy or not does not make you unclean spiritually. However, do we still wash our hands? Yes, because it keeps us from getting sick. Also, should we still be careful what we put in our bodies? Yes, because it keeps us from getting sick.

My New Book

For those of you who don't know my story I used to have back aches, be overweight, have eczema, headaches, allergies and get sick all the time. Also, when i was 16 i was told by my N.D. that i had stomach cancer, however, after working with a Christian Natural Doctor i learned how to take care of my body the proper way and i was healed of ALL the above symptoms. After years of research and reading a book a week for years i have compiled all the important knowledge i have learned into one book on health. Its called "Why Are We Sick" I would love for everyone to check it out and let me know what you think. 3 John 1:2 "Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health".

Here i am 7 years later without ever even having a cold and i want to share with you how YOU can experience the same health. My book will be available at the end of september on www.booksurge.com, www.amazon.com, www.melissalancaster.com, www.abebooks.com, www.Alibris.com, BooksinPrint.com, GlobalbooksinPrint.com,
and a few other sites. I am also working on my holistic health practitioner degree and my degree as a doctor of naturopathy. Also, on weekends when im not out singing with Durant i am conducting health seminars for churches and health stores and book stores. GOD BLESS, ~Melissa

A Check-up six months ago revealed Denis Vaughan's prostate cancer was becoming more active. Vaughan, an orchestral conductor and one of the driving forces behind the creation of the National Lottery, has had prostate cancer for 12 years. Because the tumour wasn't considered aggressive enough for surgery or radiotherapy, his consultant at University College Hospital had agreed on a policy of watchful waiting, while Denis kept it at bay with diet and exercise.

Then, his prostate specific antigen (PSA) score, which measures how active the tumour is, went from 13 to 18.5 'and the watching became a bit anxious'. His oncologist wanted him to take drugs or begin radiotherapy, but Vaughan, who is a strong believer in a natural approach to health, preferred to try a treatment offered by his London GP that involved infusing vitamin C into the bloodstream.

He underwent weekly treatment - with up to 75 grams of vitamin C at a time (the recommended daily amount is 60mg). The treatment, which cost £100 a time, appears to have worked - after seven weeks, his PSA dropped back down to 13, a level described as moderately elevated, and he's back on watchful waiting. His oncologist has said he now doesn't need to see Vaughan for another year.

It's an unorthodox approach, but one that seems to be backed up by research published earlier this month, which found that injecting large amounts of vitamin C into laboratory mice with aggressive and hard-to-treat tumours, caused the cancers to shrink by between 41 and 53 per cent.

Hundreds of patients in the UK have already received IVC as a treatment for cancer - without apparent side-effects. Dr Julian Kenyon, a private GP in Harley Street, says: 'What the American study shows is that when you infuse amounts as high as 4 grams per kilo - the equivalent of around 75 grams for an average adult - vitamin C causes a build up of a chemical called hydrogen peroxide, which destroys the tumour.'

The chief researcher of the American trial, Dr Mark Levine of the American National Institutes of Health, has been investigating vitamin C's cancer killing abilities for several years. He's already shown that it's effective in a test tube and two years ago, he published a report on three patients who were treated for serious and advanced cancers and survived far longer that would normally be expected.

'We now know that the vitamin C gets into tumours in large amounts and that it kills them by causing a build up of hydrogen peroxide. In fact, vitamin C is hardly a new anti-cancer treatment. It was famously used by double Nobel Prize winner Linus Pauling more than 30 years ago, who found that terminal cancer patients treated with vitamin C lived much longer. However, when his trials were repeated at the prestigious Mayo clinic in America, the researchers found no benefit. Proponents of vitamin C point out the clinic only used oral vitamin C which can work differently.

'This is just the sort of thing that public money should be spent on,' says Dr George Lewith, of the University of Southampton, who assesses complementary and alternative medicines for the National Cancer Research Institute. 'I would be strongly in favour of running a proper clinical trial of IVC as soon as possible.'
